Off to 2010

It’s been a good year, in many respects. Not counting the horrific plummet of our economy, job losses across the country, and the increasing demise of print media…For me, personally, 2009 brought a wedding to Matthew, a trip to Argentina, a new job, a new camera, and even some new friends.

I cooked a lot last year. I made bread for the very first time in my life, and pickles. I experimented with gnocchi, poke, roast chicken, watermelon, and cookies. It was a delicious year, to say the least. This last day of the year is always somewhat qualifying. Reflecting on the good times, the mistakes, the hardships, the triumphs, the successes and failures of the previous year. The best part of today, though, is that it marks a clean break from everything negative, and a leap forward to every new possibility that lies ahead.

It’s hard to even say it: 2010. The year seems to momentous, so unreal. I hope that you all celebrate tonight–one way or another–the possibilities. Your unfulfilled dreams, and the opportunities that you can grasp. Your wishes, your hopes, your dreams. To our readers, we appreciate your visits, your comments (thank you for taking the time to leave comments, those who do), and your support. We promise that 2010 will bring exciting new recipes, music, and who-knows-what-other-kinds-of-goodies. Cheers to the New Year!
